Specialist Services

If your child is struggling in reading, math, or writing, we can help. Once we have met with your child, talked with you, and assessed your child's needs, a learning plan will be created. Understanding that each child has their unique learning style, we will tailor their program to fit their individual needs. Using a variety of methods and taking advantage of different modalities, we will work with your child to improve their reading, math, and/or writing. If your child currently has an Individual Education Plan (IEP), the goals will be incorporated into the program we design for your child.

My experience with students includes both general and special education and spans kindergarten through eighth grade in public, private and non-public education as a credentialed teacher.  I hold both an Education Specialist Instruction Credential and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and in addition, I hold an Added Autism Authorization issued by the state of California.

With more than sixteen years of direct instructional experience to students with various learning challenges as well as typically performing students, I have the skills needed to address the needs of diverse learners. Students I have worked with have been identified with specific learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability and other mental impairments.

I pride myself on building positive and collaborative relationships with students, parents and other service providers to bring about positive educational outcomes for all students. In addition, I hold a Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in Special Education. I am well equipped to address your student’s individual needs!

These outcomes are built on my successful use of strategies including, but not limited to, individualized and small group instruction, Lindamood-Bell Learning processes, accommodations and modifications of class work, and strategies to build skills of executive function. In addition, I have experience assessing the academic skills of students through the use of standardized testing, writing Individualized Education Plans, and monitoring goal progress of students.
